ここがPOINT日本語LESSON「とても」

Hello Everyone!

Let’s start “One Point Japanese Lesson!”

Today’s Japanese is “TOTEMO” which means Really, or Very.

We put TOTEMO to emphasis the word comes after.

For example, Delicious in Japanese is Oishii, and if you want to emphasis it, we say “TOTEMO Oishii”.

Japanese are not really show their feeling, they often hide what they are thinking. But when Japanese use TOTEMO, they are mostly saying their real feeling.

Like in my situation, I can say “It’s delicious” even though I don’t really like it, but I say “It’s TOTEMO delicious” only I think it’s really delicious.

And “TOTEMO” can use anytime!

For example, “TOTEMO Happy”, ”TOTEMO Sad”, “TOTEMO Nervous”, “TOTEMO Beautiful”, “TOTEMO Fast”, “TOTEMO Exciting”, “TOTEMO Scary”, “TOTEMO Cold”, “TOTEMO Quiet”, “TOTEMO I can’t believe it”, “TOTEMO I want to be with you”.

See? Anytime right?
